So Adam finally got his orders last Friday. We had been thinking that once he got his orders things would not be so frustrating and we could finally get some things done for the move. But what we found out is that just means that there are 15 million more steps to be done---and that is only a slight exaggeration. We do know that we will be taking our house hunting trip from Aug 30 to Sept 8, but that is all we know so far. As for the program for the house, we've found out that once the program gets your information you have to go thru a bunch of steps before you get assigned a counslor and can actually do anything. So far they do not even have our information--not only do you have to be approved for the program and have your orders, someone has to sign the paperwork and that takes several days. We are hoping that we will have our house on the market before our house hunting trip so we know when the 60 days + 5 days for process will be up so we can actually make an offer on a house and get Kyla enrolled in school. So even though we might not get into a house until late October, we are still trying to move mid September so that Kyla can start school. We get Temporary Living Assistance so that shouldn't be a problem. We are now hoping that by Christmas we will be in a house with all our stuff delivered---although with the way things are going that might be cutting it close!
To add to all the frustrations, we are having problems with our internet. That is why it has taken me a week to put this information up. Our internet just goes out for long periods of time for no apparent reason. Since Saturday it has been going out every evening and not coming back up until sometime the next morning. Considering that's the time when we tend to use the it, we haven't been able to get much done :(
We are really hoping that in the next week or so we will be able to find out if our packing dates were approved and at least get started in the house program, but I'm no longer getting my hopes up that things will get less frustrating!
I'll update again when we hear anything
