Our house is finally on the market. It's been on for about a week now and we've had absolutely no one come to look at it. Makes us really glad that we got into the Garenteed Home Sale Program!!!
As for buying a house in Denver that has also been frustrating this past week. We've been working with a realtor there since about June and he seemed pretty good. He kept telling us that we could probablly get a good deal on a short sale---we just took his word that this would be a good thing. Well early last week we found out he had schedule conflicts and wouldn't be able to meet with us when we had planned--and wouldn't be able to meet with us until almost half way through our house hunting trip---so we changed realtors. This ended up being a VERY good thing. We found out that with a short sale it can take up to 2 months until you find out if your offer has been accepted (the bank has to approve it and they are as slow as the government). This really isn't a good option for us because we don't want to get an apartment out there and we'd like to know by the end of our house hunting trip where Kyla will be going to school. So we have now found out that instead of 35 houses to choose from there is only about 6. We think we will still be able to find something that we like---not too hard coming from a 1400 sq ft houses built in 1953 and no garage! We are just glad to find that out now and not during our trip--or after finding a house that we like that is a short sale! We are now looking forward to our trip that starts in 3 days!
