Zoo

The kids and I visited the zoo this past Friday. We tried the Lorikeet feeding for the first time. You buy a small cup of nectar and feed it to the birds.

Kyla was having fun--until one of the birds bit her. Since she was reaching up to feed the bird, she automatically jerked her hand away spilling the rest of the nectar all over herself. Needless to say she doesn't want to try it again. I am hoping she changes her mind, since I thought it was really neat. I'm not sure what happened when she got bit since I had turned around to make sure AJ wasn't getting into trouble. There was quite a few birds and people in the area and I am thinking that something scared it.

The kids had fun riding the train and carousel. AJ's favorite I would have to say was the train since the whole carousel ride he kept looking for the train and pointing out the tracks when we went around.

They also had fun playing in the covered wagon and watching the wildlife show about how animals "recycle, reduce, and reuse." In the picture below their is a vulture flying towards the fake dead animal.

And of course we also saw some animals!
