We went to the last national park area on this side of the island--Pu'ukohola Heiau. I am excited to be getting so many family pictures and pictures of the kids (although it will make scrap booking harder). Kyla was excited to get her badge and a free national parks passport. She had already gotten a free compass after the last 2. Not sure what she will get after she's done the volcanoes which will be that last one in the booklet.
This is the offering post. A Heiau is like a temple were the Hawaiians use to worship gods. This was an offering place to give offerings to the gods.
Kyla really liked the plumarian flower and would pick the flowers up off the ground whenever she say them.
Today we went to the beach again. It was a really nice day to be at the beach--sunny but not too hot. The kids really like this beach with all the sand and the surf isn't too rough for them either.
I enjoyed the picture taken opportunities with the rougher surf on the outside rocks.
Tonight we went down by the ocean for dinner. I made sure to bring the camera for a sunset picture.
