Kyla started gymnastics lessons the beginning of Jan. Since she would be 6 during the session they let her go into the 6 and older group. Before she started she didn't really understand it---even though she wanted me to teach her how to do a cartwheel she just didn't understand the concept and was too afraid to try. These pictures were taken during observation week (after 5 weeks of lessons).

She was able to stay up in a bridge for almost the full count of 15. And with more practice she is staying up for longer and starting to put one foot up in the air.

This picture is a little fuzzy- but it is her favorite jump, the one she does the best, and I couldn't resist the tongue!

Here is her cartwheel---she has to straighten her legs but at least she is now getting her hands correct and is landing on her feet instead of falling.

And here she is on the beam. The place that she goes has all 4
apparatus's--floor, beam, bars and vault. They don't do much with vault because they are still learning to jump off the spring board but work on the other 3. Next session begins in a couple weeks and she will learn a routine and then they will have a mini-competition at the end of the 9 weeks. She is really enjoying it and working hard!
