Elitch Gardens

Adam got some discounted tickets for the amusement park here in town--Elitch Gardens so we checked it out this past weekend.

This is a picture from the Ferris Wheel--the first ride that we went on.

Then Kyla and I went on a "flying" ride.  Adam couldn't tell where we were when we were up in the air but he took this picture to show how high we went---Kyla loved it!

AJ wasn't sure what to think of the park and when Kyla and I were on the ride he did not want Adam to put him down to take pictures---he's saying "no".

We then went to the kiddie area--but AJ was about 1/4 inch too short for most of the rides.  He did get to go on the train with Dad and then Mom (although Mom couldn't fit in the engine so she had to ride in the car behind him--don't see the difference between that and riding by himself but oh well)

Kyla had fun going on the kiddie swings and kiddie roller coaster but was disappointed that she wasn't tall enough to go on the bigger rides!

They had a play area with soft balls and all kinds of things to shoot them out of or stuff them in and have them shoot out somewhere.  It was fun, but very noisy.  This is a picture of Adam teaching the kids to shoot the balls at Mom.

Kyla really liked the free fall ride at Sesame Place and was excited that they had one here that she could ride---although she was hoping for a bigger one.  But she had fun and rode it several times.

She was also excited to be able to go on bumper cars---or as she was quick to point out, bumper mice.  That is one ride that she had never been on.

There were a couple rides that AJ was able to go on without Mom and Dad--these boats and some planes.

As we were standing in line for the haunted house AJ feel asleep.  I was holding him at the time, but he stayed asleep for the ride and for a while afterwards.  

He woke up grumpy and wanted a snack--until he saw the carousel-anything can wait until after the carousel!

Overall, we had a good day and left right before the rain started.  We have return tickets for September and by then we are hoping that AJ will have grown a little!  We are also hoping that by next summer Kyla has grown a couple inches and can ride some of the bigger roller coasters.  I have to say we were spoiled by going to Sesame Place that has really neat rides for parents and kids even as little as AJ.  Kyla who would not even go on the simple rides like the boats before that ended up liking the big roller coaster and other higher thrill rides.  We were a little surprised by how little it was compared with Sesame Place and Hershey Park.

We are looking forward to a summer that should be filled with many fun things---as long as it stops snowing :)
