On the Road

We are starting what could prove to be the worst part of this whole moving thing---living in hotels for 3 weeks! I am hoping its not too bad, but we will see how the kids do after sleeping in so many different places and naps not being consistent. At least after the first week we will be in the same hotel in Aurora for 2 weeks and hopefully things will be more scheduled for the kids.

The movers spent Mon, Tues, and Wed packing our stuff in boxes and then onto the truck. It went pretty good for the most part. Kyla got to spend Mon at a friends which greatly helped because that meant mom and dad didn't have to listen to her complain about being bored and have a grumpy child, instead we got to hear how much fun she had! Tuesday they were only there in the morning and then we got to go to our favorite home-made ice cream shop one last time. Wednesday they came to pack everything into the truck. Mom, Kyla and AJ went to the park with some friends for part of it but it was a pretty boring day for the kids. The packers also didn't do a good job keeping parts to things they took apart so we are a little worried that some of our furniture wont be going back together on the other end. It took one guy about 3 hours to figure out how to get our fridge out of the basement and then put our house back together---and our fridge is now missing a couple screws that hold the door on. I'm not sure what the problem was--it was a tight fit but it only took about 15 minutes when we moved in. I think part of it was it didn't want to help with packing other stuff!

We had a good first day of our trip. We only drove about 4 hours then stopped to visit friends. Kyla was able to play with some little girls and really enjoyed herself! We are taking it easy until Monday then we will have 3 longer days. Tomorrow we will be seeing Adam's Grandma!
